TitleLetter from H[enry] B[rougham] Guppy, 17 Woodlane, Falmouth, to [Henry Bowman Brady]
Date14 December 1887
DescriptionWill send Brady information on the samples he required. Is glad to hear he has been able to advance so far with the Solomon Island deposits. Needs an abstract of Brady's paper on the Java soapstone, and believes similar deposits [to the Solomon Island ones?] would be found there. Suggests Brady contact Bishop Selwyn of Norfolk Island, who takes a general interest in these matters, and would probably aid Brady by means of his missionaries. Thanks Brady for his kind reference to his [Guppy's] books and places much value on the high opinion he expressed concerning them. Is looking forward to hearing more about the New Ireland chalk. Believes there might be more information on the suject in a paper by reverend G Brown in proceedings of the Geographical Society, April 1881.
