| Description | First paragraph crossed over, continues in the middle of the first sentence: 'that you have been prevented from accomplishing the work you had intended.' Regrets that his specimens have given Brady extra trouble, and is surprised as he should have thought they would disintegrate so easily as English chalks. Supposes that micro slides will not throw any light on the peculiarities in Brady's results, and adds that his friend William Hill has had slices cut of many if Brady would care to see them. Encloses a letter from Dr Murray [not present] in which he mentions the apparent absence of certain foraminifera in the samples Jukes-Browne sent him (but these samples were different to the ones Brady has). Murray also says 'that deposits like those of Barbados have been sent him from several of the Pacific islands and from Algeria.' Asks in a postscript whether Brady wants copies of papers published in the Journal of the Royal Society, as he feels it is superfluous to send copies to those who have the journals unless they are wished for so he sent them to those who are not Fellows. |
