Title | Letter from A[lfred] J[ohn] Jukes-Browne, 1 Carlton Place, Teignmouth, Devon, to [Henry Bowman] Brady |
Date | 6 December 1889 |
Description | Thanks Brady for sending the preliminary notice of the contents of the Barbados earths, which he will be glad to use during Brady's absence as an appendix on their paper. Proposes to send it, when completed, to the Geographical Society, and has no doubt it will be published in their Quarterly Journal. Believes that if Brady thought any of the species worth figuring, they [?] would doubtless give him a plate. Asks Brady to send him a line to 28 Jermyn Street as soon as he returns to England, and then Jukes-Browne will let him know whether the paper is in type or not. Asks questions about Barbados specimens. Will keep samples for Brady in case he wishes to try their effect, and in the meantime hopes Harrison will be able to get some of the rainwash material. Discusses questions raised by Osmond Fisher and Millard on his speculative letter to Nature of 21 November. Is envious of Brady going to Egypt, as he found the winter climate there almost perfect when he visited in 1876. |
