TitleLetter from Charles Lennox, 2nd Duke of Richmond and Duke of Aubigny, Whitehall, to Martin Folkes, Queen's Square
Daten.d. [Thursday morning]
DescriptionHe has seen the pictures mentioned, but thinks them detestable daubs and would not think of bidding for them. He does not have two rooms that could hold them. Twenty pounds would be the most he would offer, but he thinks they would be under that amount: even that would be too much to give for furniture he could not use. There is one item, King Charles's Entry, no.65 on the first day of sale, which he would purchase for within ten guineas. He asks if Folkes could get someone to bid. Although it is badly painted, it is a curiosity.
