He is gathering strength, but progress is slow and his leg will not be opened until next Sunday, at which time he will write to Folkes again. He has put off his intended sea voyage but will go to Goodwood by land as soon as he is able to and he asks for Folkes's company. Indian pheasants are fine birds, but scarce. He has had many additions to the menagerie of late. The King is at Kelvcot Stays and very impatient, with the wind settled in the west. Charles Stanhope is in town, but he wishes Folkes there, because the town is very empty. |
