Description145 colored photographic slides mostly depicting members of the Oxford Animal Behaviour Research Group [ABRG] out in the field, for example: dressed for work in a gull colony, doing research on egg synchronisation, washing hides, and on their research vessel 'Nibbee II'. Some slides date to Shaffer's time working with ABRG research student John Krebs in autumn 1968 and winter 1969 at Beanwood near Oxford, researching feeding and predation in Titmice. File includes an index of slides and comments by Lawrence 'Lary' Shaffer.

Subjects of the images are as follows:

Nikolaas Tinbergen and other individuals at Walney Island Field Camp and mudflats including: artist and naturalist Dr Eric Ennion with whom he co-authored the book 'Tracks', Shaffer and his wife Beth, Joost Tinbergen [Niko's nephew as well as field assistant and researcher], research officers Michael and Barbara MacRoberts, nature reserve warden Walter Shepherd.
