TitleLetter from Frederick J Jervis-Smith, 13 Norham Gardens, Oxford, to Charles Vernon Boys
Date7 February 1903
DescriptionThansk Boys for his letter and says that he has travelled to Camberley to investigate 'the poor boy's death'. Evidence from the doctor suggested that he was prone to depression and delusions. He was working hard for the Army's competitive examination. In his last letter to Jervis-Smith and his mother his son wrote about his symptoms. Jervis-Smith has received an unsolicited letter from the Devonport doctor with additional details. He notes that one paper stated that his son was in debt - 'the hunter for "copy" seems to be a worthless cad, utterly unscrupulous and inaccurate'.
