DescriptionIn reply to Chambers' letter of 23 September [1886] to Lord [John William Strutt] Rayleigh, Foster as Secretary is directed by the President of the Royal Society, George Gabriel Stokes, to say they are willing that Chambers should have 300 copies of his paper 'on the luni-solar variation of magnetic delclination &c at Bombay & Trevandrum' ['Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'], on the understanding that Chambers pays for them.
