Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor [Walter Noel] Hartley, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 22 October 1894 |
Description | Rix has Hartley's letter but is sorry that there is an additional hitch which can be overcome without much difficulty. According to the Society's record, when Hartley called he cut the illustrations down to one plate and one map and the Society was clearly under the impression that the three curves were not wanted. The large copies are not now with the paper and if Hartley did not take them away with him, Rix does not know what has become of them. They can however execute the curves from the small copies in the text since it appears that they are essential.
Rix wonders if it will be possible to print the plate as it is indicating, by lithographed scale, the difference between the two spectra. Asks if Hartley approves and whether he could notify him before Thursday as on that day the Secretaries will be at the Society to give instructions about the paper whcih are in hand. |
