Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Charles Chree, Kew Observatory, Richmond, Surrey |
Date | 11 March 1895 |
Description | With reference to Rix's letter of 19th February in which he promised to ascertain from the bankers the reason for the decrease in the interest on the Cavour Canal Bonds, Rix is informed that in July 1894 the bonds were paid at £2-10-0 per £3 coupon, while those for January 1895 were only paid at £2-5-11 and three quarters per £3 coupon. By reference to 'Burdett's Intelligence' Rix finds the coupons are subject to the Italian Income Tax which has risen significantly this year and thus the difference in dividends is exactly accounted for. |
