TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir John Evans, Treasurer, Royal Society
Date20 May 1895
DescriptionIncloses an item from General [Richard] Strachey [not attached]. The Society shall not send Strachey the revise which Evans ordered until they hear from Evans whether the inclosed corrections are to be embodied.

Rix is writing to Sir John Lawes to ask for the 14th.

The Manchester Naval Exhibition write to borrow the Society's Samuel Pepys portrait, which was previously lent to the Naval Exhibition in London. The exhibition opens at the end of May and there is no Council till 13th June. Asks to know how to proceed noting it is rather a valuable portrait to lend in an informal manner.

In a post script Rix notes the surveyors have been 'put off' and they can have the 14th.
