We send a line to enquire concerning the diagrams in your Phil. Trans. ['Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'] paper. If the printers can make the lines come fairly close up to the letters & if we have a block prepared for the dia. [diagram] in which the [symbol] was used will that suffice? If it can be avoided we do not wish to have several more blocks prepared, on account of the additional expense. We will communicate with the Engraver about the fig. [figure] 2 which you wish altered. We shall send you a Revised Proof.
