DescriptionFoster has been directed by the President and Council of the Royal Society to convey their gratitude for the Admiralty's promise of assistance to their expedition to Japan to observe the total solar eclipse. With regard to the expedition to Noway, Foster states that they are following the advice given and steps are being taken to transport the observers independently to Vadsö.
