TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to The Cambridge Engraving Company
Date10 July 1896
DescriptionThe Society has received the 10 proofs of the [Thomas Henry] Huxley portrait. The words 'From a photo. &c.' shall be inserted. Dr [Michael] Foster thinks Harrison should drawn the Company's attention to the somewhat blotchy appearance of the portraits especially noticeable in the background. Harrison wonders if it can be remedied. Asks if these proofs are part of the edition or surplus proofs. As soon as they have a few hundred printed Harrison asks them to be sent to the Society so that they may proceed with the issue of the number of the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]'.
