TitleCopy letter from Henry Edward Armstrong, to Professor [Friedrich Wilhelm Georg] Kohlrausch
Date1 March 1897
DescriptionAt the recently held meeting of the Royal Society's International Catalogue Committee, Kohlrausch's letter addressed to Professor [Arthur William] Rucker, was considered, in which the question was raised of the publication of a German edition of the International Catalogue.

The Committee were unanimous that such a matter can only be decided at another International Conference or by the International Council. Kohlrausch may not realize that the Royal Society is not empowered to act in any way independently, and whatever share the Society eventually take in the work, the Catalogue will be prepared and published under the direction of the International Council.

Much that Kohlrausch suggests is already foreshadowed, the the Conference resolves that the issue in book form shall be in parts corresponding to the several branches of science.

[Attached to the copy letter is a manuscript note stating 'Hern Prof. Dr. Kohlrausch, Phy. Tech. Reichsanstalt, Charlottenburg St., March 25, Berlin'.]
