TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Joseph Norman Lockyer, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date31 March 1897
DescriptionIn reply to Lockyer's note, it is considered generally undesirable to have folding plates in the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' so that if they could find a way of getting Lockyer's spectral plates on to single pages it would be well to do so. If Lockyer has to re-photograph it might be possible to do this and still retain enough of the scale lines for reference, or the reduction might be done by the collotype people cutting up the present photographs and bringing the spectra a little nearer together. Plate one requires no reduction, and only a quarter of an inch in the widths of Plates two and three would be necessary.
