TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Professor Cargill Gilston Knott, 42 Upper Gray Street, Edinburgh
Date24 December 1896
DescriptionFoster reiterates the information given by Professor Arthur Rucker, namely that the Committee of Papers have decided not to publish Knott's paper 'On Lunar Periodicities in Earthquake Frequency' in 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society', but have directed that an abstract be published in 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' providing he makes certain changes.

The Committee suggest that Knott's numerical results be incorporated in his abstract, and Foster outlines the way in which they believe it should be done. If Knott agrees to this, the fill paper can be loaned to him to allow him to make the necessary modifications, though it will have to be returned to the Royal Society for future reference.
