DescriptionThe Royal Society has just issued the report on the Total Solar Eclipse of 9th August 1896, as observed at Kio Island. Sir J N Lockyer has suggested a number of copies of this might with advantage be distributed among the observers on board the HMS 'Volage' and James is directed to say that the Secretaries will have much pleasure in placing 50 copies at the disposal of the Lords [of Admiralty] for such distribution.
