TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to the Editor of The Daily Graphic
Date1 March 1898
DescriptionThe Royal Society's clerk, Mr James, was right to say that he had no authority to give permission to your artist to make a sketch.

The meetings of the Royal Society are private not public meetings and only Fellows of persons introduced by Fellows are admitted. A while ago there was unwillingness on the part of the Society to give facilities for sketches to be made. Foster will obtain a formal expression of the Council so that he can give the current views of the Society.
