Title | Copy letter Arthur William Rucker, to the Secretary, Her Majesty's Office of Works and Public Buildings, Storey's Gate, Westminster, S.W. |
Date | 25 November 1898 |
Description | Since writing yesterday Rucker has been informed that the London United Tramways Limited also propose to apply to the Light Railway Commissioners for powers to construct various Light Railways in the neighborhood of the Kew Observatory. Asks if the Secretary will ensure the insertion of the clause, of which Rucker sent a copy, in the Order referring to these railways also.
The President and Council regret that they make such frequent applications to the Secretary in this matter, but the system of electrical traction is being very rapidly extended and the number of schemes being proposed at present is very great.
As the London United Tramways Company have already accepted the clause as regards their lines which were authorized in the summer, it is not anticipated that they will object to its being enforced in the case of these newer undertakings. |
