TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Messrs Drake and Gorham
Date17 January 1888
DescriptionA request for more detailed information for a meeting with Mr Crooke, the President of the Chemical Society, who is noted as uncertain with regard to the projected annual cost of electric lighting. In particular, Rix wants definite information about the cost of one third of the gas, labour and repairs to engines and dynamo per annum. He provides data about the Royal Society's engine, the number of lights at the Society of Antiquaries, and the number of lights and usage of those lights at the Royal Society to better inform the requested estimate.
