Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt] |
Date | 18 July 1888 |
Description | Rix has received Mr Love's manuscript, but does not see any mention of it in Strutt's note.
Rix refers to a copy of an extract from the report sent to Professor Harry Govier Seeley, which suggested the artist should only draw that which he could see himself. The work has not been begun as Rix assumed that Seeley had sent Strutt a note consenting to that condition, but it has occurred to Rix that Seeley may have believed an interview with Rix to have been sufficient. He had observed at that time that he was puzzled by the instruction, as it was sometimes necessary to point things out to the draughtsman which might otherwise escape notice.
Rix asks that Strutt let him know if he has heard, or expects to hear, from Seeley. |
