Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Dr Philip Lutley Sclater, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 23 July 1888 |
Description | Sclater's letter of 1 February has been considered at two meetings of the Library Committee, and Rix has been instructed to fill in and forward the enclosed form [not included]. The Royal Society bankers will be instructed to pay Messrs Drummond the annual subscription for 1887 inclusive.
Rix refers to the rule that the privilege of subscription is forfeit unless the amount be paid before 1 December, and reminds him that they received the first message that the Royal Society name had been removed from the free list on 13 December 1887, so it was not possible to comply. Therefore he asks that they include volume twenty-three in their subscription, and notes that their bankers have been instructed accordingly. |
