|Title||Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Thomas Andrews, Fellow of the Royal Society, Wortley, near Sheffield|
|Date||5 March 1900|
|Description||With reference to Andrews' letter requesting the withdrawal of Mr Allen's certificate of candidature, Harrison explains that he is in a little technical difficulty. As the list of candidates has already been read to the Society Harrison does not feel empowered to remove a name from the list. Will refer the point to the Secretaries and communicate again. |
Under the Statue governing the resuspension of certificates, which as Andrews will see from the enclosed circular [not enclosed] the Council now interpret strictly, Allen's certificate if not allowed to stand this year, would lapse, and a new certificate would have to be got up for him.
