DescriptionAdmiralty have informed the Royal Society that the Commander in Chief on the Mediterranean Station has been directed to report the arrangements he would propose to make for carrying out the wishes of the Joint [Eclipse] Committee in connection with the forthcoming visit of a party of astronomers to Alicante to observe the solar eclipse. A further communication is promised on the receipt of Sir John Fisher's answer. Rucker is sending a copy of the letter officially to Captain [Edmond Herbert Grove-]Hills.

As a post script notes the Foreign Office have communicated as requested with Paris, Madrid and Lisbon.
