DescriptionIs directed by the President and Council to forward the enclosed copy of a letter received from the Treasury [not enclosed], assenting to the change in the constitution of the Meteorological Council proposed in Strachey's letter of 16th November, 1899 and approved by the Council of the Society on 7th December.

It is therefore understood that [William Napier] Shaw will be appointed Secretary to the Meteorological Council, and shall continue to be a Member of the Council.
