Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir William [de Wiveleslie] Abney, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 27 March 1901 |
Description | Sends a copy of the 'Record' which shows the size of the page available [not enclosed] for the portrait plates of the new edition. The portraits he suggests to include, on top of the four in his possession and the proofs named on the back, are: Sir [Robert] Southwell, the Earl of Macclesfield and Sir Joseph Banks. Any suggestions would be accepted, although the edition is unlikely to exceed eight plates. Considering the use of Vanderbank's Sir Isaac Newton as a frontispiece. It is edition 750, and Harrison would be obliged if he could get the reproduction made and printed to that number without delay as the issue was due in January. |
