DescriptionThe Council of the Royal Society are gratified that the Konigliche Akademie is prepared to make a nomination to the Joule Studentship. The Royal Society make no conditions on whether the studentship is to be applied to the provision of scientific apparatus, the desire is that the nominating academy should bestow the studentship in their discretion in the matter most conducive to promoting the intention of the foundation.

Harrison provides him with a list of previous holders of the Joule Studentship and their institutions.
