Title | Copy letter from Joseph Larmor, to William Duddell, [Fellow of the Royal Society] |
Date | 16 December 1901 |
Description | Is desired by the sectional Committee for Physics and Chemistry to inform Duddell that they do not see their way to recommending Duddell's memoir 'on the resistance and electromotive forces of the voltaic arc for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' in its present form but if Duddell can edit the paper to half its current length and reduce the number of tables and diagrams to one half it will receive their favour.
As there has been so much delay in connection with the memoir, Duddell is instructed to write provisionally without waiting for the Committee of Papers, which will not meet for a month. A copy of suggestions made by the referees is included advising where the paper may be shortened, where figures may be omitted and noting grammatical and punctuation errors. |
