DescriptionAsks for the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to convey the greatest thanks of the Royal Society to the Netherlands Government for the valuable assistance which has been given to Hugh Frank Newall, who was dispatched to observe the Total Solar Eclipse of last May in Sumatra.

Special thanks must be conveyed to the following individuals: The Governor of the West Coast of Sumatra, Major Muller, Mr Delprat and Mr van Lessen.
