DescriptionIn 1899 the President and Council appointed a small standing committee at the the request of the Secretary of State for India which should be prepared to advise the Government on questions relating to India, in which scientific matters of a biological nature were involved.

Since it has never been consulted, Foster asks whether it is Lord George Hamilton's opinion that it should continue.
