DescriptionTheir letter relating to a communication received from the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs with reference to a resolution passed by the International Committee for Scientific Aeronautics, and of 6 November relating to a H M Treasury enquiry, have been laid before President and Council. They agree on the necessity of an additional special grant for the purpose of carrying out observations upon the upper air by means of balloons or kites in the British Isles and India, and will join the Meteorological Office in approaching the Treasury.

Foster assures them their proposed general enquiry into the administration of the grant to the Meteorological Council and the whole subject of the the legitimate requirements of a national system of Meteorological Observations and investiga
tion will get sympathetic support.
