DescriptionThanks them for their letter communicating the resolution passed by the Council of the Senate with reference to the proposal for a memorial of the late Sir George Gabriel Stokes in Westminster Abbey.

The President of the Royal Society has nominated Lord Kelvin, Lord Rayleigh, Professor George Carey Foster, Professor George Downing Liveing and Professor Augustus Edward Hough Love, together with the Officers of the Society, to serve on a Joint Committee with representatives from Cambridge University for the promotion of the suggested memorial.
