Title | Copy letter sent from unknown correspondent, to The Secretary, Clarendon Press, Oxford |
Date | 14 December 1903 |
Description | The Royal Society has had under consideration the extreme difficulty of providing adequate funds for the completion of the British and Colonial portion of the International Astrographic Chart. Professor Turner at the Observatory at the University of Oxford has played a leading part in obtaining the British results, having been bestowed grants amounting to £1000 from the Royal Society.
Presumably the Oxford University Press would be willing to publish the work, and so they have been directed to ask whether it is possible to count on the Oxford work being thus completed. |
