|Description||The President and Council accept the resignation of Francis Galton as a member of the [Meteorological] Council, and send their appreciation of his long and valuable service. They nominate Sir Richard Strachey, Professor [George Howard] Darwin, Dr [Alexander] Buchan and [William Napier] Shaw to be the directors. They also nominate Sir Richard Strachey as the Chairman. |
They wish to bring the number of the Association up to ten, and so nominate the Earl of Rosse, Mr [John Young] Buchanan, [William Henry] Dines and Dr [Robert Henry] Scott. They should not receive an honorarium for their attendance, as it may present legal difficulties.
