DescriptionAcknowledges their letter regarding the approaching retirement of John Eliot, the head of the Indian Meteorological Department, and the wish of the Indian Government that he and Colonel Gore, Surveyor-General to the Government of India, should be placed in communication with the Observatories Committee.

Also acknowledges the receipt of 12 copies of a report by Eliot on the programme of future work by the department.
