TitleCopy letter from Joseph Larmor, to Professor Wydnham Rowland Dunstan, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date21 July 1902
DescriptionDunstan's paper was, as Larmor knows, referred to the botany [committee] who decided not to recommend it for the '[Philosophical] Transactions [of the Royal Society]'. The decision had to be signed by absent members and was late for Council. The Physics Committee somewhat irregularly took the matter up, considered the reports and recommended the paper for the 'Transactions' subject to asking for consideration of future work. Council passed this on condition that the paper was not to go into 'B' without the consent of the Botany Committee but Larmor has not been able to obtain this.

The reports were contradictory and the most definite of the criticisms is enclosed as Dunstan requests. Larmor does not see that the paper can go into 'Transactions B' without waiting for a Council at the end of October.
