TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to the Director and Principal Librarian, British Museum, Bloomsbury
Date22 December 1902
DescriptionThe labours of the Committee entrusted by the Royal Society with the investigation of the Coral Reef Funafuti, by means of deep boring, have led to the formation of a valuable and illustrative collection consisting of: cores; microscope slides; and mounted specimens of microscopic organisms, the number of the latter two being very great. The Committee think that if the collection were not preserved as a whole, but broken up and dispersed, its value would be greatly diminished. The Committee naturally desire the collection be preserved as part of the national collection in the British Museum (Natural History). Asks if the Trustees would be willing to make arrangements for the reception of the collection.
