Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to, Alfred Bray Kempe, Treasurer of the Royal Society |
Date | 20 May 1903 |
Description | The long talked of despatches from Commander [Robert] Scott were brought before the Royal Society by Longhurst. They arrived on Monday, and it seems strange that Sir Clements Markham did not communicate them while the letter to the Treasury was in draft. Harrison is requesting enough copies to furnish officers of the Royal Society with, and a copy should also go to Admiral Wharton. The report is marked private and confidential, and Harrison wryly states that he hopes Markham will observe this. |
