Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Alfred Bray Kempe, Treasurer, Royal Society |
Date | 24 February 1904 |
Description | Harrison apologises for bothering Kempe, but as he can find no authority on the issue he asks that Kempe assist by sending a postcard giving his advice. The query being whether a Fellow is allowed to demand to see a manuscript to be read at a meeting prior to a final decision about its publication. He cannot think of a reason for refusal, but nor does he find guidance from the Statutes or Standing Orders on the subject. He clarifies that the reason for seeking access is likely to be to find grounds for attacking the Paper in discussions in the meeting room.
A postscript refers to an enclosure from Robarts about Irrigation Bonds on which Harrison awaits Kempe's instructions. |
