TitleCopy letter from Joseph Larmor, to Dr Mitchell
Date30 October 1904
DescriptionLarmor is writing to Mitchell formally in the matter of the Zoological Record and Catalogue. There is a letter of his of the end of May which remained unanswered because it was that the Joint Committee of the Royal Society and the Zoological Society should have before them the first issue of the International Catalogue then almost due.

The subject for consideration by the Committee is what Larmor takes to be a great waste of funds involved in preparing various catalogues when one would suffice. The International Council of the Catalogue meet in july next year to consider and modify the plans of their undertaking. If a unanimous British understanding existed regarding Zoology, it would carry much weight.

If he could suggest an afternoon suitable for his Record Committee, Larmor will try and get some representatives of the Royal Society to meet with them. It would be well if [Henry Edward] Armstrong, Dr Morley, and Dr [Sidney Frederick] Harmer were included. Sedgwick is not available.
