Description | With reference to the Secretary''s letter of 14 December stating that a sum not exceeding £1000 would be at the Society's disposal after 1 January 1905, for the investigation of tropical diseases. States for the information of Mr Lyttleton that, acting on the advice of the Tropical Diseases Committee, the Society has allocated £500 towards the expenses connected with the despatch of Professor Minchin to Uganda to make further enquiry into Sleeping Sickness.
The balance of the expense of Minchin's commission, estimated to cost £1000, is being met by a contribution of £500 from the Foreign Office. When money is required to meet charges on this account an application shall be made to the Secretary for payment of the sum allotted from the Tropical Disease Research Fund. |
