| Description | Encloses Dr D H Scott's report on Miss L Digby's paper 'On the Cytology of Apogamy and Apospory. II' [not enclosed]. Asks if Ward is willing to authorize printing of the paper in the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' under Standing Order 33, and if before printing the remarks of the referee should be communicated to the author with a view to the amendment of the paper.
The Chairman's minute nominating Professor J B Farmer as third referee for Mr E S Salmon's paper on 'Endiphytic Adaptation shown by Erysiphe Graminis DC. under Cultural Conditions', has been received. Farmer has replied that he cannot report on the paper. In view of the fact that the alternative nominee, G Massee, is not a Fellow, the Secretaries have decided to refer Salmon's paper to Sir W T Thiselton-Dyer, who can consult Massee about the paper, should he desire to. |
