Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor William Augustus Tilden, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 16 June 1905 |
Description | Replying to Tilden's note of Wednesday, the practice is not to ask any Secretaries of Societies, as such, for the Ladies Soiree and that is why Dr Crossley has not received an invitation. Explains that in sending invitations to the Assistant Secretaries of the Burlington House Societies, there is no idea of exalting the paid Officers at the expense of the honorary Officers but it does seem inconsistent that that classification should not include the honorary Officers of the Societies in the House, and he will ask for authority to interpret the description in that sense.
Has received Tilden's letter and list of invitations for 13 July. |
