Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to George Derby, Managing Editor, Messrs J T White & Company, Publishers, 5 &7 East 16th Street, New York [USA] |
Date | 13 December 1905 |
Description | Harrison responds to Derby's letter of 29 November, returning the list of American recipients of the Copley Medal, simply making the addition of the name Professor Josiah Willard Gibbs, to whom it was awarded in 1901. He also corrects one name included, noting that Count Rumford is usually referred to by that name, and not by his family name of Thompson, which occurs only once in the opening sentence of the recital of his Deed of Gift connected with the Rumford Medal, which is awarded by the Royal Society. |
