TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Mrs Cameron, 114 Spa Road, Thornton Heath
Date11 June 1906
DescriptionHarrison conveys his regret at the news of the death of Cameron's husband, noting the concern he felt regarding his illness upon hearing of the 'hopelessness of his case' from the Asylums Board. Harrison, upon first hearing of the attack, applied for financial assistance on Cameron's behalf to the Scientific Relief Fund Committee but was unsuccessful as it was not within the terms of the fund's administration. As Mr Cameron was not a regular member of Royal Society staff, neither could the Officers justify a grant from the Society's income. Harrison was, however, able to write off the amount Cameron owed the Society.
