DescriptionThe letter of Sir G Murray of 14 December has been considered by the Council of the Royal Society by aid of a report from the director of the National Physical Laboratory. Council have adopted the estimates contained in this report, showing the proposed allocation of the annual endowment of the National Magnetic Observatory at Eskdalemuir. It will be seen that the expenses are expected to accrue from 1 July. Larmor is also directed to convey the assent of the President to the arrangement by which Eskdalemuir shall be vested in the Office of Works, while the Royal Society will be responsible for internal maintenance only.
