|Title||Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Dr Sidney Martin, [Fellow of the Royal Society]|
|Date||15 May 1907|
|Description||Geikie explains that, following C E [Charles Edward] Walker's return to Liverpool from abroad, Walker has sent in a letter with an enclosed manuscript appendix to his paper. He has read the appendix, and takes exception to it on the grounds that a simple acknowledgement of Mathews' work was requested, which need not having been longer than a couple of sentences, but Walker has adopted a defensive tone as though responding to an accusation. He does not wish to see it published in Proceedings of the Royal Society, but asks for Martin's opinion.|
Geikie departs on Saturday to attend the Linnaeus celebrations in Upsala, Sweden. Walker has submitted another paper which is also being forwarded to Martin, communicated by Professor Farmer.
