| Description | Harrison states that a card from Sir Willliam Thiselton Dyer supposed that Sir T Holderness has been asked to the Indian Advisory Committee on Monday, but has not been, so Harrison offers to write to him if Darwin thinks it is desirable. He is not a member of the committee, but the late Chairman used to ask him as a representative of the India Office; however, it is Darwin's decision. The individual they view as representing the India Office is Surgeon General Branfoot, but he is not an official in the same sense as Holderness, so he asks that Darwin send him a card with his decision.
He notes that the enclosed letter arrived that morning, and appears more personal than official. |
