Description | Larmor sends details of the printing of the magnetic survey of South Africa, which the Royal Society is to publish for local governments. It is to be on the plan of Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society volume 188 (1906), which is the survey of the United Kingdom. Wright thought he could estimate for producing an edition of 600 copies in red boards like Transactions, with half to be distributed and around 100 kept in stock for sale, and the remainder sent to South Africa. The estimate will need to be divided into cost for sheets and cost for maps. They have a significant proportion of the manuscript and expect the remainder next month. Dr Charles Chree will revise the proofs. |
